I have to say, I really admire this just from a craft-of-comedy perspective. Aside from just the strong physical resemblance, Tina Fey captured not just Palin’s accent, but her complete set of speech patterns- the way her voice screeches just a bit in certain situations, her word choice, etc. She also caught the little mannerisms, the facial expressions she makes when she’s not speaking, etc. Considering no one had even heard of Sarah Palin two weeks ago and she’s spent most of her time dodging the media since, Fey completely mastered this impression in a remarkable amount of time, and with remarkably little to work with.
